About this work

Album with 236 illustrations on 52 album leaves. These are cartouches and ornaments from the maps of Abraham Ortelius, published in the atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. The cartouches are based on designs by, among others, Hans Vredeman de Vries, Jacob Floris, and Benedetto Battini. Green linen binding with marbled paper on the boards, with a flyleaf at the front and back.
