About this work

Cartouche in a frame of scrollwork. In the upper half of the frame various birds. In the center an owl sees itself in a mirror. Top left an oil lamp and top right a winged hourglass. In the lower half of the composition trophies with attributes of goldsmiths, painters, woodcarvers, etc. Center below a flower vase. The cartouche is a fragment of a map of Gelderland and Cleves. The print is part of an album.
