About this work

Two female figures, half-length with turban-like headgear, in ovals. The accompanying text (p. 181) states: Hairstyle partly of velvet, partly of gold-thread gauze. Necklace. White japon trimmed with ribbons. Fig. 2: Same hairstyle but now with velvet and embroidered muslin. Coral necklace. Pink crêpe japon, trimmed with silver threads. Child's sleeves. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de la Mésangère (1798-1848).
