About this work

On the occasion of the visit of Maria de' Medici to Amsterdam, a spectacle was organized on the Amstel. Maria de' Medici sits in a skiff. On the water, among others, Neptune in a sea shell drawn by two sea horses. Behind him Mercury, god of trade, in a ship with the city maiden at the front. In the river lies a floating theatre. Further on, two men on a boat are engaged in a game of skill. The print is part of a book about the visit of Maria de' Medici to the Netherlands.
