About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand pointing diagonally upwards, while placing a fork (musket fork) under the barrel (no. 11), ca. 1600. Plate 11 in the instructions for handling the musket: Brief enseignement, sur les pourtraitz figurez, touchant le droit maniement du Mousquet.
