About this work

Avarice tries to catch up with Fortuna. Representation of all kinds of avarice among people from childhood to old age. In the background a procession of wind traders on foot and in carriages throws itself in pursuit of Fortune from a rock into the abyss. At the top a portrait of John Law with a banner with a six-line verse. With caption in six columns. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 10) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trading of 1720.
