About this work

The Little Man Groote Gardenier der Liefde kruidhoven as a harlequin with a black mask. Verses in German, French, and Dutch in the caption. Print within a decorative border printed from a separate plate with little people, at the bottom a monkey eating pap. Numbered right center: 35. Part of the Dutch bound edition of 1716 of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, copied from an older German model.
