About this work

Emblem composed of a cartouche and a devil with a basket of little people on his head. Central scene with Bombario, a street vendor, and a monkey. Print within a decorative border, printed from a separate plate with rocailles and flowers. Numbered right center: 1. Part of the second Dutch bound edition of 1720 (and related to the Windhandel in that year) of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, partly copied from an older German model.
