Remains of the skull or brainpan of Saint Rombout, as preserved in the reliquary shrine from 1825. Illustration in a publication for the 1050th anniversary in 1825 of the death of Saint Rumoldus or Rombout, patron saint of the city of Mechelen, who was thought to have died in 775.
