About this work

Bowl of English earthenware, with reliefs on a beige background of a reading, sitting, mourning and kneeling woman in classical style. The reading woman sits under a tree, the sitting woman plays with a doll, the mourning woman sits under a tree with a dog and the kneeling woman before an altar with a vase. Between these representations also in relief: a plant and a butterfly, a vase and a dragonfly, and a flowerpot and a bird. At the bottom of the bowl a fluted rim and an upright undecorated rim as a foot. Marked: Turner.
