About this work
Linen damask tablecloth with Christ and the Samaritan woman. Central field: the symmetrical, horizontally repeated pattern shows from bottom to top three scenes: 1 and 3 Christ and the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. 2 City gate with inscription SICHAR with trees on both sides and two disciples carrying a basket of food. Below the scene IOAN IIII. The horizontally repeated scenes are separated by a tree. Side borders: symmetrical double borders with flowers and birds; outside these, a block border. The tablecloth has no horizontal borders.
