About this work
Pricking for a strip of bobbin lace - Valenciennes lace - pricked in parchment colored green on the upper side. The pattern consists of bouquets, leaves and fruits tied together into a triangle. On the reverse is the handwritten text: "Piquires de Valenciennes 1870-1880; 501". On an accompanying note: "The pins on these lace patterns are pricked again between the indicated holes, making the mesh smaller than indicated."
