About this work

Tablecloth of linen damask with the coat of arms of Charles III of Spain and a view of Lille. The symmetrical pattern, repeated three times lengthwise, shows the following scenes from bottom to top: 1 The coat of arms of Charles III of Spain flanked by flags; below it a rider on horseback. 2 Symmetrically arranged groups of a man with three cannons. 3 A view of Lille. 4 Plan of a fortress with the inscription LILLE above. Standing borders: coats of arms and trophy of arms; outside these: block border.
