About this work
Gilded copper watch in a chased case, and a second case of tortoiseshell. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute numerals. The platinum pierced gap with a vine ornament is signed: John Drills, London 5360. On the loose copper case, a chased classical scene. In the tortoiseshell case, two loose case back papers from Rudolf Bossert in Hoorn and Van den Hartog in Purmerend.
