About this work
The turned legs end in balls gripped by claws and are connected laterally by turned stretchers; in the center, a turned cross-stretcher. At the front and back, there is pierced carving with broken volutes, floral scrolls, and two cherubs with a crowned shield, upon which an anchor and star. The stool is upholstered with petit-point over the upper legs, depicting a central field with two coats of arms, framed by scrolls with seated corner figures.
