Letter bag in rectangular shape of light brown silk trimmed with a border of gold lace and decorated with metal spangles and gold thread, with 'ANNO' and '1781' embroidered on it

Letter bag in a rectangular shape of light brown silk, edged with a border of gold lace. The bag is double-folded. The exterior is decorated identically to the interior: a winding border of connected silver leaves, secured with silver thread, along which stylized flowers in colored metal leaves appear. Within this frame is a garland and, at a bow, a medallion on the outside of the bag embroidered with 'ANNO' and '1781'. On the inside of the bag 'JE SUIS DISCRET' and 'POUR L'AMITIE' are applied in the same manner. The two compartments inside are lined with pongee silk.
