About this work

Chair of walnut, with front and back rails placed in a splayed position. The front rail shows in low relief two dolphins, with their heads resting on the ground and tied together at the neck. Their tails end in volutes and they flank a scrollwork cartouche with a coat of arms. The back shows a scrollwork cartouche with a coat of arms, on which a beast's claw, flanked by S-volutes. Topped by a leaf border, S-volutes and an inverted palmette.
