About this work

Oak sideboard decorated with ebony, with three clock feet at the front and vertical rails at the back. The base with drawers supports corbels, upon which are clawed lion heads; above these, Ionic half-columns, decorated at the bottom with leaf and flower scrolls. The door and side panels are framed with braided bands and lion heads; the spandrels are filled with scrolls. The frieze has recessed panels with guttae on the corbels, between which are panels and mascarons; on the sides, consoles.
