About this work
Bust portrait in biscuit porcelain depicting Napoleon Bonaparte on a pedestal of dark blue glazed porcelain with gold trim, bearing the mark: manufacture Imperiale de Sevres in red letters above the glaze. Above this lies a round copper cover plate. Below the pedestal a profiled square copper base. Napoleon is bareheaded and looks straight ahead. He wears the well-known military clothing with epaulettes and three orders of merit. On the back is engraved with little care Mre. Imple de Sevres. Buste officiel de Napoleon Empereur 1805.
