About this work
The vaulted foot is rectangular in cross-section, with rounded corners. It flows smoothly into the baluster-shaped stem. This is strongly constricted at the top, just below the candle holder. The parts are all twisted and decorated with leaves and C-scrolls. The separate square drip catcher is built up from partially curling leaf motifs. Engraved under the foot of both candlesticks: V 204.
