About this work

The four pointed oval, vaulted vessels (A, B, C, and D), which have slightly raised walls on the sides, each rest on an oval foot that tapers strongly upwards on a straight-sided base. On the body, openwork with alternating shells and rosettes, fits a hinged, vaulted lid crowned by a ribbed pinecone-shaped knob. Pearl borders run around the foot, around the upper rim of the body, over the high-rising, curved ears, and around the lid.
