About this work

The round sugar shakers have a multi-arched foot. The body is composed of a hemispherical section set in three female herms, between which are always two godrons, and a smooth concave, tapering section, which is crowned at the top by a projecting rim. The high spherical lid has three rectangular openings with diagonally placed grilles containing clovers. Between the openings female herms are applied; they end at the bottom in hooks that are part of the bayonet closure. On the top of the lid a star of godrons is applied, crowned by a vase-shaped knob. On the lower edge of the foot and lid, and on the underside of the smooth part of the shaker, a projecting ribbed border is attached.
