About this work

Mirror in a frame lined with tortoiseshell and decorated with profiled ebony reeded mouldings. On the inner frame the tortoiseshell pieces are surrounded by thin bands of bone, forming stretched diamond-shaped, oval, and heart-shaped patterns at the corners. The mirror glass has a beveled edge all around.
