Strip of bobbin lace with blue and gold-painted flowers and leaves

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace, where the pattern is painted light blue, with dark blue contour lines and gold dots. The repeating pattern consists along the top edge of two curved branches. On one branch hangs a fan-shaped flower downwards, to the bottom edge. On the other hang two palm leaves or palm flowers downwards. The motifs are largely connected to each other by an ornamental ground, a snowflake ground and partly with a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. The solid work is largely made in linen stitch with openwork edges, one (flower) leaflet is made in net stitch. Around the branch with the fan-shaped flower a net stitch filling is used. The scallops along the bottom follow the shape of the pattern and are finished with picots. The top is finished straight.
