About this work

Chair of walnut, resting on a front and back board placed in a spread position, connected by a stretcher. The front board is decorated with a twisted knob flanked by acanthus volutes. The back board and the wide seat rails also carry a knob. The back has the shape of an inverted isosceles triangle with two flat panels. The top rail ends in a circular rosette on both sides and has a shield with a tree in the center, and is further decorated with a cartouche and leafy tendrils in intarsia.
