About this work

Linen damask napkin with birds in wreaths. Central field: the pattern shows two lying oval fields: 1 Framed with a broad checkered band with a half knot on the left and right containing a rosette. Symmetrical inner design of a stem with swan-necked lanceolate leaves with three palmette flowers and two turned-away parrots with turned heads. 2 Connected to field 1 by a vase; framed by a pointed oval band with branches and birds. On the left and right a halved knot. Symmetrical inner design of a trunk with lanceolate leaves and as candlesticks swan-necked side arms, to which sunflowers and on which two turned-away birds. In the corners pomegranates and carnations in a wreath. The borders show pointed oval vines with symmetrically repeated birds, fruits and flowers. In the corners always four rosettes. Along the standing borders a block border. Lying borders framed in hems with stripe and block border.
