About this work

Fragment of a linen damask tablecloth with large symmetrical repeated volute vines with acanthus leaves and flowers, such as carnation, tulip, rose, and narcissus, held up by a tied ribbon. On two adjoining sides, a narrow border of stretched floral vines, separated from the central field by an inner hem, on which S-shapes and a border of pearls, chalices, and rosettes. Unrecognizable maker's mark.
