About this work

Linen damask napkin with a wreath of roses. The pattern, symmetrical about the vertical and horizontal axes, features a rhomboid medallion with a wavy border in the center, containing a central rosette and stars. Surrounding this is a wavy, thorny, garlanded branch with rosebuds. Without transition, bordered by volute scrolls with various flowers and, in the corners, a diagonally placed flower vase with C-contours, filled with carnations, tulips, lilies of the valley and lilies. A narrow fine checkered border frames the whole.
