Linen damask napkin with London, the Thames, English arms, riders and conquered cities. Central field: the symmetrically doubled pattern shows from bottom to top four scenes: 1 River the Thames. A yacht with reefed sails. Rowing boats in the background. Inscription: THE RIVER THAMES. 2 A city with in the middle the cathedral of St. Paul and on both sides the Tower. Inscription: LONDON. 3 A horse walking towards the centre with a rider dressed in a just-au-corps with jabot of 1670, low wig and hat with ostrich feather. To the side a half laurel wreath with crowned initial J(?) or G(?). 4 Between two crowned arms of William III (Hartschild of Nassau) a round shield, in a scrollwork cartouche, with the Cross of St. George and two swords, behind which two flags, one again with the Cross of St. George, the other with two crossed swords and a crown.
