About this work
Armchair of walnut wood (so-called caquetoire). The front legs are columnar. The legs are connected at the bottom by bars. The trapezoidal seat frame has a seat blade slightly curved on the sides; the shape of the four armrests, with vase-shaped joints, and the narrower distance between the rear legs correspond to this. The back has a flat-carved panel with moresques and carries on top a shell with a vase-shaped crown amidst turned leaf volutes. The back stiles are fluted.
