About this work

This multifunctional piece of furniture was made in the workshop of Jean-François Oeben, which was continued after his death by his widow, Françoise-Marguerite Vandercruse. Despite her second marriage to Oeben's apprentice, Jean-Henri Riesener, the workshop remained registered under her name.
