About this work

Chest of partially gilded walnut resting on leonine claws placed diagonally. The base consists of a pierced leaf border with a list of turned knobs, with a palmette in the center. Most striking in the decoration are the fields filled with brown, yellow, and green veined marble plates, separated by consoles. The cushion-shaped lid has a pierced profiled leaf border and carries a coat of arms within a cartouche in the center on top.
