Palmwood File with Medallion Portrait

Palmwood grater. The back is decorated in low relief with a medallion portrait of Louis XIV (?) above which are profile portraits of a youthful royal couple facing each other. At the bottom, the French royal coat of arms surrounded by chains of the Order of St. Michel and the Order of the Holy Spirit, held by two angels. In the chains, the letters H.R.S.L. At the top, a cartouche with floral and leafy garlands. Above this, a shell-shaped palmette motif surrounded by trophies. The iron grater is surrounded by a leaf border with two facing birds at the top; at the bottom, the coat of arms of a bastard branch of the Bourbons.
