About this work

Gilt copper and champ levé enamel. This case contains gilt copper objects decorated with champ levé enamel (nos 1-12). In this technique depressions are carved in the copper and then filled with enamel. All the objects were made at Limoges (France). Pair of candlesticks first half of the 13th century.
