About this work

Fragment of a millefleurs carpet. A blue-black ground is harmoniously scattered with plants growing in rosette form with spreading flower stems. Recognizable are the cuckoo flower, violet, lily of the valley, daisy, and various bellflowers. Small animals hide among them, such as a dove, chicken, pheasant, rooster, heron, and half-cut, a lynx.
