About this work

Tapestry fragment (?) with Hortus Conclusus with wild men; within a circular enclosure of open lattice work, on either side of a flowering tree, two facing riders: on the right a falconer on a unicorn, on the left a man with a club on a spotted long-necked animal. The people are barefoot, the limbs strong and long-haired. She wears a wide-sleeved tabard of red velvet and a low hood with dark red flaps hanging forward over the shoulders. He wears a yellow-green paltrock with red perforations, has a short beard and wears a headband, crowned at the front with a large leaf.
