About this work
Coffee pot of painted porcelain. The handle is C-shaped and the foot, rim, and spout are gilded. The pot is painted on both sides of the body. Between the quatrefoils of the lid and on the handle and spout, Indian flowers are painted. Under the spout, a letter fragment and trompe l'oeil are applied with the text: "Votre très hu[mble] Johann Martin Bottfridm ... nebst 1. Balln mit dem Sigl: CZ zur Fracht ge ... 6 Fev". The pot is unmarked.
