About this work
Strip of coloured lace embroidery: Burato lace. On a slanted thread weave of light brown silk and linen, a border pattern in buttonhole stitch technique is applied with silk thread in the colours blue, green, yellow and cream. The pattern consists of an angular running vine, with a diagonally oriented grape leaf attached to it. Framed by a row of triangular leaves (?) on a stem.
