Napkin of linen damask for the wedding of Philip V and Marie Louise of Savoy. Central field: the symmetrical pattern shows from bottom to top three scenes: 1 Crowned alliance coat of arms of the Spanish Habsburg with escutcheon of Bourbon and Savoy, together surrounded by two chains. 2 On a terrace stands a king in an ermine mantle, long coat, and long wig with long curls; he shakes hands with a seated woman in a mantle with an ermine collar. Above them laurel wreaths and a dove with rays. 3 Within a circle: VIVANT ET REGNENT PHILIPPUS V HISPANIARUM REX ET CONIUX EIUS MARIA LUDOVICA REGINA, next to which a (beheaded) fortitudo. Standing borders: central stem with armillary flowers. Lying borders: central bar, decorated in the middle with rosettes and at the ends with large hanging flowers. Corners: rosette. Surrounding: block border.
