About this work

Mirror frame of carved palm wood with grotesques on a rough gilded ground. The left and right outer frames consist of volutes with a halved vase and fruit clusters; at the top two satyrs, at the bottom a basilisk and a triton. At the bottom, flowers and vines with three satyrs between them. The top shows a border with grotesques, ear-shell motifs, and two male figures; crowned by a mask flanked by an ear-shell motif and volute-shaped acanthus leaves with masks.
