About this work
Jug. Earthenware decorated with layers of coloured slip under a transparent lead glaze; silver lid. North Italy, c. 1575–1625. Engraved in the lid are the arms of Adriaan van Hecke (burgomaster of Flushing from 1648–1661) and his wife Johanna Schot.
