About this work

Earthenware dish covered with white tin glaze, on which a representation is painted in blue, green, yellow, red, violet, and purple-brown, continuing flat over the rim. Depicted are two Chinese figures, a woman and a child, standing, leaning against each other, on a yellow oval ground. To their left a yellow tiger, to their right rocks with flowering plants and two birds. In the sky, several insects. Red outlines. A blue border along the rim.
