Long Kashmiri shawl woven of multicolored wool, with a black field, around which a full pattern of palmettes and leaves

Palm shawl woven of multicolored wool. Model: elongated, with black mirror. Along the short edges plain strips in red, black, white, light blue, orange, pink and green. Pattern: an outer border of cartouches. A brace-shaped inner border of alternately an arabesque flower and a carnation. The center pattern in the aforementioned colors is symmetrical about a vertical and a horizontal axis. From the short sides a niche with a curved pointed arch extends towards the center and connects to two transverse palmettes, which cut through both the mirror and the border. The large niche is built up from smaller ones, of which one is concentric and shows radiating heart-shaped leaves. Next to the niche an eight-loop of two mir-i-bota's. In the mirror stands an imitation Persian signature.
