About this work

Porcelain sugar bowl, painted on the glaze in enamel colours and gold. On the outer wall a landscape with people and a kind of obelisk. The other side with a bouquet and sprays. Gold lines on the foot and the rim. The spout ends in an animal head. The lid with a landscape and a bouquet; pointed finial. Marked with the monogram of Catherine II of Russia. Possibly a 19th or 20th century forgery.
