About this work
Chair of mahogany (a,b), decorated with maple marquetry. The round front legs have a twisted jointing above and below; the part between shows reeding. The rear legs slope backwards and form one piece with the back stiles, which are connected halfway by a stretcher, and which are crowned by a hollowed wide, overhanging backrest. The front seat rail and the back stretchers are decorated with stylized leaf and flower motifs; the top stretcher ends in rosettes. Loose upholstered seat.
