About this work

Cap cushion of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Symmetrical pattern with flower twig in oval cartouche. On the twig and on some surrounding twigs are irises. The motifs are built with festoon stitches, with sparingly applied cutouts for decoration. They are provided with relief contours and connected to each other by a fine mesh ground, an Alençon ground. In the oval decorative frame and in flower hearts grounds with radar picots are applied. The cap cushion is finished around with a bobbin (?) band.
