About this work

Saucer of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, brown, purple, and gold. On the flat surface, a richly decorated medallion containing a floral sprig. Surrounding it, four sculpted medallions, each containing a different Chinese scene (chinoiserie). Between the medallions, floral sprigs, two with birds. On the rim, a decorative band with scrollwork, diamond patterns, and shell motifs (laub- und bandelwerk). Three floral sprigs on the outer wall.
