About this work
Writing cabinet of South African stinkwood. The front is closed by a drop-down profiled panel. The walls of the cabinet are fluted. The base has legs as Tuscan columns with upper and lower houses with diamond pieces, on flattened spheres. The lower houses are connected by profiled stretchers. The front and side rails show foliate motifs, including arched dentils; in the center of the front rail a bobbin with diamond piece and a sliding support with a cartouche and a male head.
