About this work

Linen damask napkin with flowers and garlands. Central field: a slender, upright, winding branch, tied with cord and tassel, is intersected by a broad, wavy, leafy branch. Borders: three straight frames, spirally wound; the middle one is broad and wrapped with leaves, the outer one narrow and entwined with a delicate flower branch. Maker's mark: FVDH24.
