Vase decorated with chinoiserie on a black ground

Baluster-shaped vase of red Böttger stoneware. The vase has a constricted, profiled foot and a short neck. The lid is a copy in wood. The original lid is missing. The vase is, except for the interior, covered with black glaze, on which images are painted in multicolored cold lacquer and gold: on one side Chinese figures sitting on chairs at a table, on the other side a fence with a hanging basket of flowers. On the sides, a tree with Chinese figures and a dog, and a plant, bowl, vase, and crane. Between the foot and the body, between the shoulder and the neck, and on the flat foot rim runs a gold band with hanging lace-like ornaments. The constricted part of the foot is entirely gilded. Some small restorations on the foot and the rim. The decoration is somewhat damaged.
